George M. White

Mr. White passed away early Tuesday morning, June 8, 2010 at the Carriage House Nursing Home. The son of the late Alva and Gladys (Owens) White was born September 8, 1921 in St. Mary's, West Virginia. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was an usher. Mr. White was retired from Prestolite Corporation. He enjoyed walking at the Bay City Mall and on the River Walk, going for rides and being with his family. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Marjorie Genow of Pinconning, Dennis and Linda White of Bentley, MI and Pamela and Chuck Horen Jr. of Kawkawlin, MI, his grandchildren; Scott (Lori) Genow, Heather Cameron, Sister Ann Hyacinth "Leslie" Genow, Amy (Trin) Castro, Charlie Horen III, Tonya (Ervin) Ward, his great grandchildren; Ashley and Christopher Genow, Ross, Mitchell, Garrett, Dane Cameron, Joshawa Horen, Gabbrellia Castro, Ashley and Samantha White, Katie, Desmond and Brandon Ward, one brother and sister-in-law; Virgil and Dorothy White; several nieces and nephews, his companion; Virginia Stajkowski.. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Vera R. (Pacholke) White, his son-in-law; Ron Genow, two brothers; John Duane White and Robert White, two sisters; Faynell Dixon and Lavina Brown. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff of the Carriage House Nursing Home and the staff of Bay Regional Medical Center for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received during his time of need. Funeral and committal services will take place Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel C. Meckes with private interment in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may all at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. White will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial Cards for Faith Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
