Gerald N. "Jerry" Kren

Jerry passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 85 years. The son of the late Joseph and Eva (Cook) Kren was born October 25, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. Jerry was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish for 49 years, he was retired from Consumers Energy as an accounts and information superintendent, served on the board of Appletree Farms in many capacities, worked on the committee for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed gardening and golf. Jerry is survived by his wife of 64 years the former Patricia Bhirdo; two daughters, Robin A. Kren (Mark Hoag) and Diane M. (Robert) Bauer; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Young, Brittany (Andrew) Brooks, Aaron (Jennifer) Oskey, Matthew Bauer, Caleb Bauer, Seth Bauer and Jacob Bauer; one great grandchild, Tatum Young; one brother, Richard Harold Kren; three brothers-in-law, Edward (Joyce) Bhirdo, Gerald (Marilyn) Bhirdo and Ralph (Pat) Bhirdo and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Joey Kren and his sister, Margaret (Cass) Skowronski. At the request of Jerry cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge with military honors following. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Catherine of Siena Parish or the American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be available at the church.
