Jerry passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side. Age 87 years. The son of the late Donald Dean and Delores (Cavanaugh) Ricker was born August 30, 1934 in Bay City, Michigan. Jerry was a longtime member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church and president of the usher's club. He graduated from LaSalle University with a bachelor's degree. Jerry retired from Dodson Insurance Group after many years of services. Following his retirement, he worked for many years at Gephart Funeral Home as a funeral director's assistant and he and his son Kevin owned and operated Ricker's Green Hut for 11 years.  Jerry was a life member of Knights of Columbus #414 and a 4th Degree, Disabled American Veteran. American Legion Post #18 and the Veterans of Foreign War Post 15023. He was an avid walker, walking 5 miles a day, loved recording music and was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions Fan. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife the former, Mary L. Wonnacott whom he married August 17, 1978; three sons, Donald Dean (Kendra) Ricker, Kevin Michael (Kelly) Ricker and Gerald Phillip (Tammy) Ricker; his grandchildren, Lindsay Nicole Ricker, Lauren Addale Ricker, Alexis Marie Ricker, Jaydon Lynn Ricker, Brigette Marie (James) Anderson, Jarrett Michael Ricker, Gerald P. (Tammi) Ricker, Nicholas T. Ricker, Brooke Ann Beatrice Ricker; his great grandchildren, James, Ellie, Mia, Meadow and Elliana; his sister, Darla Morrisette; his brothers, Roger Dean Ricker and William Earl Ricker and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parent's, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra Beson, Penny Weston and Janith Myers; his brother, Ronald John Ricker
At the request of Jerry cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive family and friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church.
