Gerhardt W. Mammel

Mammel, Gerhardt W. Bay City, Michigan Gerhardt passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at Brian's House. Age 75 years. The son of the late Gerhard and Emilie (Rueger) Mammel was born March 3, 1936 in Bay City. He was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Gerhardt was a retired truck driver and farmer. He was a member of Teamsters Local #486, an avid Detroit Tigers fan, enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchild. He is survived by his children; Dianne (Larry) Kramer, Deborah (Randy Knoerr) Nuffer and David (Andrea) Mammel, his grandchildren; Nicole and Tara Kramer, Kirsten Nuffer, Nicholas, Madeleine, Elizabeth Mammel, his great grandson; Brayden Schmidt, his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; Lydene Mammel and Don and Marie Davis and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Dorolyn Mammel, his sisters and brother; Verna Gerhauser, Maynard Mammel, Mildred Leinberger, Esther Mammel and Adela Mammel. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff of Bay Medical Center 4 East, Brian's House and Mr. Mammel's caregiver Colleen Campbell. Funeral services will take place Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust with interment following in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Gerhardt will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial cards for Brian's House, St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Worship for Shut Ins will be available at the funeralhome.
