Gordon Thomas Mueller "Gordy"

Gordy passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, January 5, 2026 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 86. He was born on January 12, 1939 to the late Herman and Beatrice (Lange) Mueller in Bay City, Michigan. He was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church, he was very active in the Church and was the organist for many years. He was also a member of the choir, he was a treasurer, trustee, council member, elder and would visit the shut-ins.

Gordy graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary and continued his education by attending Concordia River Forest and Michigan State University. He was the owner and operator of Mueller Brothers Services and later retired from Gougeon Brothers as the Division Manager. He volunteered at the Life clinic, as well as Toni and Trish House. Gordy and his wife adopted 8 children and fostered over 120 children together.

Gordy is survived by his children, Timothy (Jodi) Mueller, Connie (Rick) Schalk, Karen (Jim) Balwinski, Jason Mueller, Julie Biskner, David Mueller, Peter Mueller, Tad Mueller, Rachel (Rick) Hernandez and Julie (Ed) Thornton; grandchildren, Mitch, Sarah, Sophia, Janelle, Justina, Nicky, Heather, Haley, Kylie, Jasmine, Eva, Baya, Mila and Ricky Jr.; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Donna (Sloggett) Mueller and Anita (Rook) Mueller; children, Steven Mueller and Toby Mueller and brothers, Robert (Donna) Mueller, Gilbert (Marleen) Mueller and Glenn (Nan) Mueller.

Funeral service for Gordy will be taking place on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor James Chinery. The family will be present to receive visitors at Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A private burial will be held at a later date at Floral Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions in Gordy’s name to Faith Lutheran Church.
