Guillermo Cruz "Willie"

Willie passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his daughters' residence at the age of 86 years. He was born in La Paloma, Texas on May 10, 1934 to the late Santiago and Eustolia (Fuentes) Cruz. Willie worked and retired in 1999 after 55 years from General Motors as a parts inspector. He was a very religious man. He read his bible every single day and prayed several times a day. Willie loved spending time with his family, playing cards with his wife and children, playing checkers, going for rides and watching old western movies.
Willie is survived by his children, Sirena (Kyle) Eyre, Tammy (Don) Cruz, Jackie (Jeff) Johnson, Joe Cruz and Guillermo Cruz Jr.; grandchildren, Natosha Johnson, Bryce Eyre, Ariana Eyre, Matthew Cruz and Emily Cruz; great grandchildren, Lukas Gies, Oliva Hurley, Kyle O'Neil and Aubriella Eyre his "princess" as he called her; grandson-in-law, David O'Neil; several brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews. Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Nancy D. Cruz and granddaughter, Tosha O'Neil.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing and limited to 25 visitors in the chapel at one time.
