Gwendolyn A. Perrault

Gwendolyn (Gwen) Ann Perrault, 82, of Bay City passed away unexpectedly on one of her most cherished holiday's - July 4th, in the early Monday morning at Tawas Ascension Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 14th, 1939 to the late Aloysius and Bernadine Badour.  She graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1957.  Gwen married the love of her life, Raymond Perrault, on April 30th, 1960.  He preceded her in death on July 15th, 2002 after 42 wonderful years of marriage.

For anyone that knew Gwen, they will remember her as one of the friendliest, kindest people you could know. As a lifelong resident of Bay City, it seemed she knew everyone in town. Gwen even continued a life-long friendship with a group of girls she lovingly referred to as, "the birthday lunch club" who she attended St. Stan's with many years ago. Gwen was a beloved waitress at Grampa Tony's of Auburn for over 20 years. Up until the last years of her life, she would reminisce about waiting on tables and would even recall the names of regular customers and their orders.

She was an avid reader and movie goer. She also had a green thumb and used to pride herself on her yellow rose bushes at her and Ray's family cottage in Au Gres where she spent many years up until the family moved the cottage back to the Barton City area that she had loved as a child. She loved going fishing and spending time up north with her family.

More than anything, Gwen loved spending time with her friends and family, and especially enjoyed visits from her great grandkids. Words cannot express what a loving, caring and patient grandmother she was. She always found a way to make things special and to make you feel unique. Whether it was a special gift out of the blue, a card in the mail, or having your favorite food ready when you were coming for a visit, she went out of her way to make sure everyone was taken care of.  Gwen also enjoyed spending time with her siblings including taking daily walks with her sister Diane, as well as casino hopping throughout the state with friends.

Gwen is survived by her son, Scott and daughter-in-law Amy (Frank) Perrault of Findlay, Ohio and son-in-law Mark Lagalo of Bay City.  She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Aubrey (Mike) Keeler, Tyler (Megan) Lagalo, Alison Lagalo, Brooks Lagalo, Ryan (Jasmine) Pischel, Justin (Brianna) Pischel, Lexi (Alex) Niemer and Mitchell Perrault, 8 great grandchildren; Adriana and Avalyn Keeler, Bentley, Finnley, and Sawyer Lagalo, Walker Lagalo, Harper and Eevie Pischel, brothers & sisters; Dennis (Jane) Badour, Eileen (Norm) Jonas, Randy (Dianne) Badour and Diane Parrish, sister-in-law; Marilyn Selleck, brother-in-law; Loren VanNess.

She was preceded in death by her two loving daughters, Dawn Marie Lagalo and Michelle Lynn Pischel; father-in-law; Raymond Perrault Sr., mother-in-law; LaRaine Perrault, sister-in-law; Judy VanNess, niece; Kari Golden, nephew; Stephan VanNess, brother-in-law; Russ Parrish.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, July 9th at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Bay City, MI. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. James Bessert.
