Harry John Bartreau, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center, with his family by his side. Born on May 30, 1953, in Bay City, Michigan, Harry was a man known for his great sense of humor and his unwavering willingness to help others. He had an infectious spirit that brought joy to those around him.
Harry held a deep appreciation for the connections he shared with his family and friends. His son, Josh Bartreau, cherished the moments they spent bonding over their shared interests. A memorable aspect of their relationship was their time talking on the CB Radio, where Harry affectionately went by the nickname “Little Harry,” while his son was known as “Little Jake.”
Harry was a man of many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed watching wrestling, attending cookouts with friends, and participating in bowling leagues. His passion for sports was evidenced in the enthusiasm he showed while watching games, often turning family gatherings into lively occasions filled with laughter and friendly competition.
He is survived by his son, Josh Bartreau; girlfriend, Becky; sister-in-law, Becky (Robert Quinn) Weiler; sister-in-law, Cindy (Kenneth) Commire; brother-in-law, Richard Dufresne; brother-in-law, Joe Dufresne; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.
Harry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janie Bartreau; his grandparents; and his mother and father-in-law, Judith Dufresne and Kenneth Dufresne Sr. He will also be remembered for the companionship he shared with his dogs, Luckers and Patches.
At the request of Harry, Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to wishes of the family.
