Harvey passed away Sunday evening, March 19, 2017 at Huron Woods Nursing Home with his family by his side age 85 years. The son of the late Carl and Frieda Fick was born December 6, 1931 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he also served as an usher. He was every active in their Boy Scout troop and received the silver beaver award. Harvey retired after 35 years of faithful service from Newcor-Bay City. He had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren. He also had a great love for traveling, walking, hiking and a greatest passion for the Michigan out of doors. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Betty Jane (Fleming) Fick whom he married September 16, 1978; his children, Nanette (Mike) Henniger, Beth Dodd, Jeffry Fick, Ted (Julie) Fleming, Tim (Connie) Fleming, his daughter-in-law, Abbie Fleming; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Clifford (Rita) Fick, Clarence (Elaine) Fick, Raymond (Sue) Fick, Gloria (Jim) Kujawa; his sister-in-law, Joan Fick; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Donald Fleming; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Gilbert "Tom" Fick and Earl and Mary Fick; one sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Jerry Shute.The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff of Huron Woods Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received the last 10 years. The funeral and committal service will take place Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Kruse followed by Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army and Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the church on Saturday to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
