Hattie M. Marquardt, of Bay City, passed away suddenly on Monday March 5, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region, age 78. The daughter of the late Fred & Martha (Feldt) Ratz, she was born May 2, 1933 in Ossineke, MI. Hattie was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. She was retired from Eaton Manufacturing. On June 7, 1952 Hattie married Carl W. Marquardt and he survives her along with their three sons, David (Kay) Marquardt of Kawkawlin, Terry Marquardt of Bay City and Dennis (Donna) Marquardt of Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Jason (ChiYong) Marquardt of Haysville, KS and Lorie Thomas of Bay City; two great-grandchildren, Paige & Peyton Marquardt; a sister, Adeline (Don) Francis of Ossineke; three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Ratz of Ossineke, and Gloria Marquardt and Marge Marquardt, both of Bay City; one brother-in-law, Bill Knaub of Bay City; and many nieces & nephews. The funeral & committal services will take place at 11:00am on Friday March 9, 2012 at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church, 997 Beaver Rd., Kawkawlin. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00pm. Mrs. Marquardt will lie instate at the church on Friday from 10:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church or to Brian's House.
