Howard Lee Schmidt

Howard passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at his home with his family by his side at the age of 86. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Wilfred and Naomi (Raymond) Schmidt on June 5, 1935. Howard was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed wood carving, fishing, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Howard owned Mr. Howard's Coif Salon and Howard's Caro Beauty Academy for over 50 years. Howard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Colleen; children Susan (James) Goetzinger, Kelly Maxwell, Kimberly (Tom) Wendell; Grandchildren Katie (Jason Janowiak) Brandow, Cory (Beth Converse) Goetzinger, Kyle Goetzinger, Jacob (Jessica Prokop) Horstman, and Nicholas (Sarah) Wendell; and 3 great grandchildren Caelan and Jacie Janowiak, and Levi Nellett. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his only sister Joan Williams, and son in law Roland Maxwell. Memorial Service will take place at 4 P.M. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jamie Milton. Friends and family may visit at the church on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 3 P.M. until the time of service. Contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
