Iva E. Johnson (Dixon)

Iva passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at her residence at the age of 88 years. She was born in Bay City on April 13, 1934 to the late William and Mildred (Guillette) Dixon. Iva was a longtime member or St. Mary's Catholic Church - Our Lady of Peace Parish. She graduated from Grace Hospital of Nursing School in Detroit and went on to graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Nursing. Iva went on to work and retire in 1994 from Bay Health Systems after working as a registered nurse in management. Iva was an avid Detroit Tigers and Michigan State University football fan. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the casino, and doing things for her grandchildren.
Iva is survived by her daughter, Mary Fawn (Ed) Martin; grandchildren, Michael (Mary) Martin, Heidi (Scott) Schofield, Tammy Martin and Dean (Juanita) Martin; sister-in-law, Mary Dixon and best friend, Peggy Hawkins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, William J. Dixon
Funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Jose Cabrera with cremation to follow the service. Private inurnment will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
