Jack L. Layle

Jack passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Carriage House Nursing and Rehab at the age of 83 years. He was born on May 12, 1939 in Bay City to the late Henry and Gladys (Stieve) Layle. Jack married the former Kathy A. Wolf on March 24, 1971 and they were married for 51 years. He worked and retired from Bay City Electric Light and Power in the marketing department. Jack was a member of First United Church of Christ, the Elks Club and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed fly fishing and hunting.
Jack is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Bryan Layle and Brady (Joann) Layle; grandchildren, Tanner (Paige) Layle and Calista Layle and great granddaughter on the way, Iris Layle. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Layle.
Per Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Church of Christ. Officiating will be pastor Scott Jansen. Friends and family may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
