James C. Coppler

James passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region with his family by his side at the age of 80. Son to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Wilson) Coppler was born September 6, 1941 in Bay City, Michigan. On August 3, 1968, James married the love of his life, Nancy. James was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church for 47 years. While growing up, James and his family were members of the 4H Club. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Tigers, golfing, attending his kids and grandchildren's sporting events, camping at Warbler's Cove for ten years and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy; three children, Bethany (Brent) Gettel, Stephen Coppler and David (Jenea') Coppler; four grandchildren, Lauren Gettel, Ethan Gettel, Anabelle Munger and Eden Coppler; three sisters, Eleanor Krause, Judith (Ken) Fales, Elizabeth (James) Beckrow and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William Krause.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Bender with committal taking place at Floral Gardens Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, September 4, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home and on Monday, September 5, 2022 from 10:00 until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to Faith Lutheran Church.
