James J. Curphy

Our loving husband and father passed over on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital at the age of 58. The son of the late Ralph and Jessie (Guyott) Curphy was born April 28, 1964 in Bay City, Michigan. James worked for Dow Chemical for 24 years, was an avid hunter, loved being outdoors and always put his family first.
James is survived by his wife of 32 years, Alice M. Curphy nee Wetters; three children, Amber Curphy, Jamie Curphy and her fiancée, Michael Verhaeghe and Aaron Curphy; granddogs, Rosie, Sage and Morgan; sister, Tricia (Kenneth) Kret; niece, Meredith Kret; brother, Micheal (Carmen) Curphy; brothers-in-law, John Wetters and Derrick (Peggy) Wetters and niece; Hollie (Patrick) Gentle. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his nephew, Richard Kret and his mother and father-in-law, Jack and Nancy Wetters.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert. Private inurnment will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Fresenius Kidney Care of Essexville or St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the church.
