James F. Gillespie V.

Jim passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 66 years. He was born in Bay City on July 28, 1956 to James and Lucille (Grove) Gillespie. On April 14, 1984 he married the former Brenda Collier and they were married for 38 years. Jim started his apprenticeship for sheet metal in 1974 and went on to work for local 7 zone 3. He retired as a tin knocker in 2013. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and hunting.
Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Joshua (J.R. Benefield) Gillespie, Rebecca (Jonathon) Gibson and Jessica (Andrew) Teeter; grandson, Theo Teeter; father and mother, James and Loucille Gillespie; sisters, Nicki (Robert) Setula and Jodi (James) Dengler; father-in-law, Ron Collier; brothers-in-law, Ryan (Lisa Provo) Collier and Robert "Bob" Collier; sister-in-law, Pam Collier and many nieces and nephews. Jim was greeted in heaven by his son, Joey and mother-in-law, Marilyn Collier.
At the request of Jim, cremation has taken place. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor John Werneke. Friends and family may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
