James T. Karbowski "Jim" Bay City, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away late Thursday evening April 28, 2016 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 82 years. The son of the late Otto and Jennie (Gorney) Karbowski was born September 22, 1933 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and the League of Catholic Men and Women. Jim graduated from St. Stanislaus Catholic High School, proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from Valley Welding and Boiler Company. Jim had a passion for classic cars, was a WW II buff and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. On May 8, 1965 he married the former Gloria A. Jezewski in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and she is left behind to cherish his memories along with two daughters; Dr. Mary (James) Durbin and Dr. Becky (Robert) Lang, six grandchildren; Thomas, Michael and Joseph Durbin and Aubrey, Emily and Brayden Lang all of Bay City, two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; Shirley and Michael Evans of OH and Janet and Richard Smith of Bay City and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Otto and Jennie he was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law; Virginia and Gerald Gibas and one brother and sister-in-law; Richard and Elgia Karbowski. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish (2956 E North Union Rd, Bay City, MI 48706. ) Rev. Fr. Jack J. Johnson and Sr. Virginia Scally, SNDdeN will officiate over the Mass. Members of the United States Army and the Bay County Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors at the church following the Mass and private Entombment will take place in St. Patrick's Mausoleum. The family will be present at the church on Monday to receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to The Food Bank of Eastern, MI or the Toni and Trish House.
