James passed away on Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017 with his family by his side at the age of 60 years. James was born on June 27, 1957 to the late Edward and Rita (Rytlewski) Lijewski in Bay City. James was a lifelong member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish - St. Vincent de Paul. He married the former Debra Hemingway on May 6, 1978 in Bay City. James worked for over 20 years for Dow Chemical. He loved his family and enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing.
James is survived by his wife, Debra; daughter, Stephanie (Robert) Voltz; sons, Dan (Heather) and Andrew (Maggie) Lijewski; grandchildren, Connor and Calee Lijewski, Tyler and Allie Voltz, and Hudson Lijewski; brothers, David (Vivian) and Richard (Sandra) Lijewski; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place at 1:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish - St. Vincent de Paul on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. James will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
