James M. "Jim" Lynch

James “Jim” Michael Lynch, 78, of Bay City, Michigan was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. His loving wife, Alice and sons, Jason and Brent were by his side. The son of the late John and Betty (Lytle) Lynch was born on June 11, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of 1966. Jim proudly served in the United States Army. He married Alice Decker on July 12, 1969 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. Jim worked for Dow Chemical for 33 years before retiring in 1999. Jim (Dad) was known for his great sense of humor, he enjoyed coaching his son’s teams through the township recreation and when he wasn’t coaching, he was just as loud from the stands. Jim was an avid golfer, loved to read and spend time with his wife on car trips. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, family, and all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife, Alice; children, Jason Lynch of Muncie, Indiana, Brent Lynch of Bay City, Michigan; one grandchild, Grace Lynch of Beaverton, Michigan; Siblings and spouses, Joe and Elsie (Keaton) Lynch, Patricia (Lynch) and Cless Ramsey, Terrence and Connie (Coughlin) Lynch, Judy Lynch, Danny and Donna (VanNostrand) Lynch.

Memorial service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Fr. David Parsch followed by military honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council and the U.S. Army. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In Lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be available at the funeral home.
