James R. Militello

James passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at McLaren Bay Region with his family by his side at the age of 80. The son of the late Anthony and Virginia (McCourt) Militello was born October 13, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan. James was retired from Dow Chemical after 35 years of service and was inducted into the Michigan Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame in 1998. He also enjoyed fly fishing on the Au Sable River, hunting, drag racing and kayaking.

James is survived by his wife, Nancy Militello; children, Karen (Dixon) Armendarez, Sue Militello, Rosie Militello, Aaron (Stephanie) Burgess, Doug Burgess and Cindy Burgess; grandchildren, Shaundra, Jackie, Cassie (Jordan) Strieter, Nick Burgess, Gabe Burgess, Veronica Vandenberg and Morgan Vandenberg; great grandchildren, Gavin Strieter, Declan Strieter and Kadin Neese and two sisters, Brenda Rozek and Toni Lagalo. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Bill Militello; mother and father-in-law, Clara and Bill Marshall and his brother-in-law, Randy Marshall.

At the request of Mr. Militello, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
