James R. Parks Sr.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend Jim passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his home with his family surrounding him at the age of 80 years. Jim was born on June 26, 1941 to the late Wilfred and Thelma (Burdett) Parks. He was married to the love of his life and best friend Margaret A. Parks on September 1, 1992 and were married for 28 years. Jim spent his working years with Canteen Vending Services. He spent 42 years working for them and then went to work for Michigan Sugar as a driver. Jim loved his summers at Lost Valley Campground in Lupton, Michigan and wintering in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, Florida. His diesel truck and Montana RV always in tow behind him. He was a lifetime member of the Lansing Eagles and Bay City Eagles #1010. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bay City.
Jim is survived by his wife, Margie; sons, Jim Jr. (Denise) of Ohio, Dan (Leslie) and Robert Parks of Lansing; step children, Tom, Jeffrey (Laddy) and Lisa Snyder of California, Mark (Becky) Snyder of Bay City; grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew) Walsh, Matt (Ashley) Parks, Bethany (Logan) Stone and Rachel Parks all of Ohio and Danny Parks of Lansing; step-grandchildren, Jared Snyder of Bay City, Tiffany Truglia of New Hampshire, Aaron, Aiden and Ellie Snyder of California and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, William Parks; stepson, Robert Snyder; sister, Barbara Miller; brother-in-law, Wes Miller; sister, Pauline Cummings and three brothers, Norman, Donald and Wilfred.
At the request of Jim, cremation has taken place and private family services will take place at a later date. Inurnment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate in Jim's honor to the American Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association or St. Jude's
