James Walker McCallum

Mr. McCallum passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 15, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 83 years. The son of the late Duncan and Cristina McCallum was born January 11, 1929 in Bay City. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #414. Mr. McCallum retired as a truck driver from Teamsters Local #486, loved going fishing and served in the U.S. Air Force during W.W. II. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Raymond) Reed of Kawkawlin and Raymond's sons, Tim Reed and Lance Reed, two sisters, Tina McDonald and Mary Friedt; one sister-in-law, Lila Klukowski; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan Marie McCallum whom he married on July 19, 1952 in St. James Catholic Church and she passed away on February 12, 2012, two brothers; William and John McCallum and one sister, Margaret Sheneman. At the request of Mr. McCallum cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with the Rite of Committal following at St. Patricks Mausoleum followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Members of Knights of Columbus Council #414 will meet at the church on Friday from 9:15 a.m. for the Bible Presentation.
