Jane E. Fowler

Jane Waibel Fowler, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, of Bay City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at the age of 94.

Jane was born in Bay City, Michigan, to Fred and Hedy Waibel. She graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1950 and, in 1953, became a Registered X-ray Technician after completing her training at Mercy Hospital in Bay City. Jane enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the field of radiology, working in both Michigan and Arizona before retiring at the age of 77.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hedy Waibel; her former husband, J. Bruce Fowler; her son, John Bruce Fowler, Jr.; her brother, Fred Waibel; her sisters, Marian Jones and Louise Waibel; her aunt and uncle, Clara and Warner Meylan; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Fowler; her dear friends, Jim DeLand and Jim Ralph

She is survived by her two children, Robert Barton Fowler (Rona) of West Branch, Michigan, and Lori Fowler Gagnon (Gary) of Gladwin, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Middleton (Duane) of Wickenburg, Arizona; 22 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

Jane found great joy in spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed dining out, caring for her home and beloved dog, golfing, traveling, and, most of all, playing pinochle. She will be remembered for the many years she shared with those she loved and for the lasting memories she created with family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 24, 2026. In accordance with Jane’s wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes will be interred at Floral Gardens Cemetery.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
