Janet Kay Brown

Janet passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Bayfield Assisted Living at the age of 81. She was born on August 19, 1940 in Clare, Michigan to the late Berthel and Isabella (Siel) Jackson. Janet retired from Walmart after 23 years. She truly enjoyed working with the customers and meeting people every day. She loved going to Colorado every year with her traveling companion, sister Dolores. One of her favorite spots to visit while she was in Colorado was the Garden of the God's. Her children and grandchildren were also in Colorado Springs and she loved spending time there and visiting with them. She also enjoyed working in her yard.
Janet is survived by her two sons, Donald C. "Butch" (Jennifer) Brown and Kirk L. (Karen) Brown; grandchildren, Jacob, Lily, Katie, Alex, Nick, Justin, Tony and Daniel; 4 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Bryce and Kathryn (Don) Divine; many nieces and nephews, and her very special dear friend and neighbor, Peg Mularz. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Jackson.
A memorial service will be taking place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Andreas H. Teich. The family will be present to receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A private inurnment will be taking place at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishes of the Family.
