Jeanette Joyce Johnroe

Jeanette Joyce Johnroe, age 85, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026 surrounded by loved ones at McLaren Bay Region. Born on August 15, 1941 in Bay City, MI, Jeanette was the beloved daughter of the late Mary and Victor Weisheim.

Jeanette lived a life full of light and laughter. She had a special place in her heart for the beauty of lighthouses and held a fond affection for elephants, surrounding herself at home with figures and treasures that brought her joy and good luck. She also loved the excitement of a day at the casino, whether she was playing her favorite slot machines, soaking in the lively atmosphere, or browsing the gift shop for unique finds.

Above all else, Jeanette's greatest joy in life was her role as a grandmother. Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than spending time with her grandchildren, hearing about their lives, and showering them with love, proud stories, and endless affection. Her family was truly her anchor and her proudest achievement.

She is survived by her children, Jamie Jackson (Joel Schmidt) and Dan Jackson (Sally); her step-daughter Angie Johnroe; her cherished grandchildren, Kendra Nelson (Brian), Emily McCaffrey (Nick), and Lance Jackson; her great grandchildren, Brantley Nelson, Liam McCaffrey, and Nolan McCaffrey; her brother Bill Weisheim, her sister-in-law Ruby Weisheim; a special nephew Glen Johnson; and her best friend Sandy LaFramboise. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Jackson; her second husband, Ted Johnroe; her daughter, Toni Fillmore; her parents; her siblings, Sandy Patten, Gary Weisheim and Rosemary Johnson; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Weisheim.

According to Jeanette's wishes, no formal public service will be held. Her family will gather for a private ceremony to spread her ashes in a place special to her heart. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
