Jeannette L. Ramey

Ramey, Jeannette L. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Ramey passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Carriage House Nursing Home. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Rock and Julia La Berge was born October 21, 1924 in Rose City, MI. She retired from Sears & Roebuck as a division manager. Mrs. Ramey was a life member of Order of the Eastern Star- Bay Chapter #219, held several offices and was a past worthy matron. She volunteered for several charitable activities, for the handicapped, worked in many plants during W.W.II , a very talented seamstress and homemaker, she was strong willed, determined, kind, enjoyed life and will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She is survived by her children; Raymond D. (Gloria) Gittins, Earl E. (Poppy) Ramey and Laura A. Dansel, her grandchildren; Terrance R. (Jamie) Gittins, Chad (Jen) Ramey, Sarah R. Ramey and Alyssa Dansel, two great grandchildren; Sara Nichol Gittins and Emma Rae Gittins, two sisters; Kate Oswald and Pauline Gehringer, her special cousins; Elaine and Mel Van Duser. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of forty years; Earl V. Ramey and he passed away in 2004, her brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. David L. Dunn with interment in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star-Bay Chapter #219 will conduct a memorial service Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
