Joan Denise Lacy

Joan passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Willows of Bay City Assisted Living at the age of 74. She was born to the late Albert and Hope (Saavedra) Brown on April 30, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from East Detroit High in 1971 and continued her education to become a nurse’s aide. She loved exploring trails with her husband, Mark, in their jeep, they went on so many adventures together and made many memories. She enjoyed going shopping and watching horse shows.

Joan is survived by her husband of 52 and a half years, Mark Lacy, whom she married on March 30, 1974. She is also survived by her cousins, Mike (Mary Ann) Saavedra, Elizabeth Hardin and Jungle Jane Howlett Hixson; nephew, Dustin Brown; nieces, Gigi Kisil and Melody (Mike) Nuckowsky; sister-in-law, Glenda Brown and brother-in-law, Dale (Marlene) Lacy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Brown; uncles, Dick Saavedra and Bob Saavedra and sister-in-law, Sherri (Raymond) Kain.

In Honoring Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s name to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
