Johanna (Laubhan) Bauer

Bauer, Johanna (Laubhan) of Bay City passed away early Thursday, October 20, 2011 at The Carriage House of Bay City. Age 90 years. She was born June 4, 1921 in Bay City and has resided all of her life. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, was a retired farmers wife and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Bauer is survived by one son; Larry Bauer, one daughter; Mary Beth Sauvage both of Bay City, two grandchildren; Heather Sauvage of Kingman, AZ and Ryan Sauvage of Freeland, one brother; Henry Laubhan of Bay City and several special nieces and nephews. On June 29, 1946 she was united in marriage to Carl A. Bauer and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; Leonard and Mary Elizabeth (Bauer) Laubhan, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Lydia and Otto Joitke and Bertha Laubhan, two brothers and two sisters-in-law; Fred Laubhan, Herman and Dorothy Laubhan and Edith Laubhan. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Monitor Township Fire Department, The Carriage House, Dr. Sutton and especially their neighbor Jim Meier for the kind and compassionate care they extended to Johanna during her time of need. Funeral Service and Committal Services will take place Monday October 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church 706 W. Jane St. Bay City, MI 48706 Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Bauer will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
