John R. "Jack" Bedell

Mr. Bedell passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at the Carriage House at the age of 88. The son of the late Lawrence and Elva (Castonguay) Bedell was born August 27, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan. Jack was a member of the Kawkawlin Community Church, served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Wren DD-568 and an avid U of M, Tigers and Lions fan. Jack was retired from Rowley Brothers in 1995 and a long time employee of the Gephart Funeral Home.
Jack is survived by his children, Connor J. Bedell formerly Pamela S. Bedell and Brian (Shawn) Bedell; his loving grandchildren, Adrienne and Lillienne Bedell and Brayden Brooks; nieces and nephews, Dixie and Joe Waldrop and Scherry and James Jones of Texas and his dog, Levi. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie L. (Burnside) Bedell whom he married on November 29, 1952; brother, Cleatus Bedell and his sister, June Davidson.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Kawkawlin Community Church. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Campbell with private interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Bedell will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
