John Joseph Peters "Jack"

Jack passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 87. He was born to the late James and Elinor (Wihtinen) Peters on June 14, 1934 in Bay City, Michigan. Jack retired from driving truck for IGA Superfoods. He was a member of the local 486 teamsters. He also enjoyed tinkering in the garage and spending time at his cottage.
Jack is survived by his children, Julie (John) Covieo, Gary Peters, Dale (Cathy) Peters and James Peters; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Lila Maxine; sister, Idabelle (Lawrence) Seyuin; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Dolores) Boman and sister-in-law, Arlisle Losey.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you for the wonderful care that their father received at Brookdale Assisted Living and the nurses and staff from McLaren Hospice. They would also like to thank the nurse at McLaren on the COVID unit, Mark, for going above and beyond for them.
In honoring the request of Jack, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishes of the Family.
