On the morning of March 26th, 2021 Jonathon Christopher Stachowiak entered eternal life at McLaren Bay Region due to complications from pneumonia. Jon was born on May 14th, 1972. He attended Handy High School where he played football and basketball for the Wildcats. Jon was a fan of the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers, and any team that his children played for. He was also able to share his love of sports and recreation with his family through camping trips, holding bonfire parties, bike riding, and taking trips to Florida. He was an avid cribbage and chess player, enjoyed the warm weather and being outdoors, and loved throwing horseshoes with family and friends at his backyard horseshoe pit. Jon worked as a machinist and was known for his precision and work ethic. He took pride in his accuracy and workmanship and loved to teach his children about his work and the value of hard work.
Jon is survived by the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Tracie Brubaker. They were married on October 7th, 1995 and have three children, Tiffany (Mike), Carly Jo (Brayden), and Wyatt Stachowiak, a granddaughter Amelia Lynn; and his grandson Bryson. He is also survived by his mother and father, Ronald and Gloria Stachowiak; two sisters, Janelle (Gary) Smolinski and their children, Monica and John Paul; his sister, Jennifer Stachowiak; and her daughter, Abigail; and his aunt and uncle, Donald and Elaine Stachowiak. In addition, he is survived by His mother-in-law, Diane Brubaker; sister-in-law Lisa (Tom) Toth and their children, Crystal (Ethan and their children Maverick, Nola, and Wren), Jon, Max and Alex; sister-in-law, Kellie (Bob) Phillips and their children, David (Shannon and son Easton) and Gunnar. Jon had many special friends and extended family that survive him including Francis Gomez and his work family at MIKA Tool.
Jon was preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Owen Brubaker; his grandparents Edward and Amelia Stachowiak, and Harry J. and Maxine Little.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Corpus Christi Parish (1000 S. Wenona St., Bay City, MI 48706). The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert Kelm. Inurnment will take at Floral Gardens Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at Gephart Funeral Home (201 W Midland St, Bay City, MI 48706) on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing and limited to 25 visitors in the chapel at one time. You may experience a wait while paying your respects, face coverings must be worn. Visitation will be held at Corpus Christi Parish at 1000 S Wenona St, Bay City, MI 48706 on Wednesday April 7th at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Donations can be made to wishes of the family.
