Joseph J. Gillisse

Mr. Gillisse passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Close to Home Assisted Living at the age of 96. The son of the late Johanna and Ella (Frost) Gillisse was born on September 2, 1925 in Bancroft, Michigan. Mr. Gillisse served in the U.S. Navy, was retired from Industrial Brownhoist and enjoyed playing golf.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Dale Ann Gillisse; children, Roger (Linda) Gillisse, Sue Gillisse and John (Kathleen) Yohn; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Gillisse and his brother, Charles Gillisse.
A celebration of life service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Phillip Baerwolf. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for the Zion Lutheran Church Roofing Fund will be available at the funeral home.
