Joyce Ann Snable, age 74, of Bay City, Michigan went home to her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Covenant Hospital.
She was born on April 21, 1951 in Bay City Michigan, to the late Francis and Lois (McLatchie) Voisine. Joyce married the love of her life, James (Jim) Snable May 24, 1974, and together they celebrated over 51 years of marriage. Joyce is survived by her husband Jim, their two sons Jonathan (Deanna) Snable and Patrick (Tamara) Snable; five grandchildren she cherished beyond measure Kayley Yancer, Skyla (Nicholas) Murphy, Jackson, Wyatt, and Claire Snable. Her sisters Judith Voisine, Lauren (Jerry) Fortenberry, Lynne Zanotti, and Mary Berry; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Voisine, brother-in-law, Rudolph (Beverly) Snable, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law Rudolph Snable and mother-in-law Virginia (Sarah) Snable, brother Robert and his wife Linda Voisine, and her brother Richard Voisine, brothers-in-law Ronald and Jerry Snable, a nephew, Matthew Voisine, and a great-grandson, Henry.
Joyce was in the first high school graduating class of Bay City All Saints in 1969, graduated college with a bachelor's degree in education from Saginaw Valley State University; and spent many years devoting her time, love, and energy, teaching her students as a Catholic School educator. Joyce had a wonderful relationship with her fellow teachers and students, and in the "Who's Who" of teachers, a special recognition for educators. Joyce was a very dedicated lifelong parishioner of All Saints Parish, where over the years she served as Parish Council President, a eucharistic minister, counted money, and helped decorate the church.
She had such a creative spirit and loved sketching, painting, and crafting. Her favorite activity was creating her amazing “Snable Cards”. She never missed an opportunity to create her personalized greeting cards for those she loved and for all sorts of occasions. So many of us will treasure these as forever keepsakes.
Joyce loved sports, was very athletic in her youth being both a high school and college cheerleader, and later became an avid golfer. She was a huge college and Detroit sports fan and loved to pass the time watching any ball game or golf. She had amazing inner strength and determination; and always gave guidance and unconditional love to those closest to her. She never hesitated to share her opinion and wit; but you knew regardless of whether you accepted her advice, she would continue to provide her unwavering support. Joyce’s legacy will continue on through all her beloved family, friends, and students who have had the pleasure of being part of her journey. We will miss her tremendously and our lives will not be the same without her.
The family invites you to attend a celebration of life. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, December 29, 2025 at All Saints Catholic Church located at 710 Columbus Ave, Bay City, MI 48708. A one-hour visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of the service. A luncheon onsite at Langley Hall will directly follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Scholarship Fund at All Saints Catholic Schools, the University of Michigan Hospital, or the American Heart Association (whose contribution to medicine gave us many priceless years with Joyce we would not have otherwise had).
