Judith Ann Buerkel "Judy"

Judy passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Stratford Pines Nursing Center with her family by her side at the age of 84. She was born January 29, 1940 to the late Clarence and Ann (Fodor) Krauss. Judy was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from T.L Handy high school. Judy married the love of her life James Buerkel at St. Paul Lutheran Church on June 18, 1960. She enjoyed reading, golfing and spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by her two daughters, Lori (Brent) Bednar and Cheryl (Tom) Fryzel; six grandchildren, Katie (C.J.) Walleck, Emily Schrems and her significant other, Stephen Hogenson; Connor Schrems, Cameron (Lauren) Fryzel, Jenna Fryzel and Jack Fryzel; great granddaughter, Sloane Hogenson; brother and sister-in-laws, Bill (Jan) Buerkel and Betty (Wally) Fahling. In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her husband James Buerkel; and in-laws, John (Ida) Buerkel.

A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Phillip Baerwolf with interment following at Fremont Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu flowers, contributions may be considered to Zion Lutheran Church or 4-H 4-H Horsemanship for Handicappers.
