Judy passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at McLaren-Flint with her family by her side, at the age of 77. The daughter of the late Hercules and Dorothy (Hadd) Sylvester was born December 11, 1940 in Linwood, Michigan. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Judy was the church florist for over a decade at Prince of Peace Parish- St. Anne Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing with them, traveling, loved flowers and artistic painting.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Rick (Lorraine) Hanover, Tracey (Ty) McConkey and Jeff Hanover; her grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Drew, Sydney, Eric and Ashton; her sister, Marlene McCoy; her brother-in-law, Eugene Shook; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Dale G. Hanover; her sister, Audrey Shook; her brother and sister in-law, Kenneth and Leola Sylvester; her brother-in-law, Robert McCoy.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Parish-Sacred Heart Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Nicholas F. Coffaro with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Judy will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to wishes of the family.
