June Lorraine Buchanan

Buchanan, June Lorraine (Ellison) Bay City, Michigan June passed away Friday evening, November 11, 2011 at her residence with family by her side. The daughter of the late Orra and Ruth (Anderson) Ellison was born October 12, 1930 in Bay City. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and the Rachel Circle. She enjoyed being with her family, knitting outfits for her grandchildren, reading and listening to music her husband played. She is survived by her husband; Donald Everett Buchanan whom she married June 10, 1950. Also surviving are her five sons; Dr. Rick (Cecilia), Randy (Sharon), Ron (Bev) all of Bay City, Robert (Mary) Perrysburg, OH, and Rodney of Bay City, her grandchildren; Melanie (Kevin) Mays, Marcy (Nick) Chambers, Adam Buchanan, Ben Buchanan, Kelly (Rich) Garcia, Bethany (Jeffery) Werner, Aaron (Kristen) Buchanan, Matthew Buchanan, Ashley Buchanan, Jay Buchanan, Kevin Buchanan, Paul Buchanan and Delaney Buchanan, ten great grandchildren with one on the way, her sisters; Nancy Wahlfeldt and Bonnie Flores, her brother-in-law; Keith (Joyce) Buchanan, her special niece; Esther Flores and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Lee Austin with private interment at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. June will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial cards for New Hope Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society will be available at the funeral home.
