Karen Lee Canute, of Bay City, passed away Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015 at her residence following a lengthy illness, age 58. The daughter of the late Frank Rynalski and Yvonne (Canute) Rynalski, she was born on July 16, 1956 in Bay City. Karen was a graduate of All Saints High School and Delta College. She worked at several local companies over the years including Bay City Powertrain, Euclid Industries and S.C. Johnson, but most of all enjoying working construction helping to build the Liberty Bridge.
Karen is survived by her son, Troy Canute; two sisters, Kathleen Canute and Kimberly Rynalski; three nieces, Carmen (Rob) Lawrence, Misty (Brian) Fekete and Dana (Matthew) McKellip; five great-nieces, Shayli, Alicia, Dessa, Sailor and Lilah; a great-nephew, Aidan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
It was Karen's desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 15, 2015 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Sr. Joanne Toohey, O.P. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
