Karen Ann Friebe

Karen went peacefully to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw at the age of 84. She was born to the late Frederick and Evelyn (Buchinger) Schluckbier on May 22, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was an active member of St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church and was also a member of Ladies Aid and sang in the choir. She volunteered in the Gift Shop at McLaren Bay Region. Karen was an avid reader and loved watching movies, especially the classics and the Hallmarks. She was always wanting to be involved in her grandkids lives and wanted to hear any updates.

Karen is survived by her children, Timothy (Susan) Friebe, Sherry (Steven) Emmrich and Randy (Kristine) Friebe; grandchildren, Christopher Friebe, Bradley Friebe, Nathan (Allissa) Emmrich, Erin (Brendan) Ehrhart, Alexander (Emilee) Friebe, Jessica (Brett) Schommer and Carissa (Austin) DeNoyer; great grandchildren, Matthew, Andy, Sammy, Oliver, Logan, Violet and Weston; brother, Dale (Lorraine) Schluckbier and many adored nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Friebe; sister, Joyce (Lowell) Friebe and brother, Dennis Schluckbier.

Funeral Service for Karen will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church with a private interment taking place at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Ben Wessel. The family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Gephart Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s name to St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church.
