Our loving and caring wife, mother, daughter and sister passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon September 1, 2016 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison with her family at her side. Age 52 years. The daughter of Richard and Nancy (Oesterreicher) Wahr was born October 20, 1963 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. Karen graduated from John Glenn High School and Delta College where she proudly received her associate's degree and retired from Bay Arenac Behavioral Health. Karen had a great joy for spending time by the water, she enjoyed drives along the bay, traveling, especially to Mackinaw Island and trips to Disney. She had a passion for caring for animals especially her dog Lacey. Most of all she cherished and loved the time she spent with her daughters and her family. On August 27, 1988 she married her husband of twenty eight years, Forest J. Ouellette and he is left to cherish her memories along with three daughters and two sons-in-law; Allison and Jason Gorman of Royal Oak, Autumn Ouellette and Jason Watkins of Flushing and Chantal Ouellette of Bay City, her parents; Richard and Nancy Wahr of Bay City, two sister; Linda Crissman of Westfield, IN and Sandra Wahr of Bay City, her grandmother; Pearl Wahr of Kawkawlin, two nephews; Matthew and Christopher Crissman, of Westfield, IN, her father-in-law; Floyd Ouellette of Bay City, special cousin and friend; Jennifer Jones of Interlochen, and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Beulah and Peter Oesterreicher and Leo Wahr, mother-in-law; Mary Ouellette and one brother-in-law. Funeral services will take place Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Dale Orlik with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive visitors on Wednesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Humane Society of Bay County.
