Kathleen Engelhardt passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023 in hospice care at the Toni and Trish House, age 83. The daughter of the late George and Magdalene (Erli) Ureche was born at home on November 19, 1939 in Bridgeport, Michigan. Kathleen was the sixth of nine children in her family. She married her beloved husband, Norbert Engelhardt on August 7, 1971; he preceded her in death on May 31, 2012. Kathy worked for Mel’s TV, Michigan Elevator Exchange and First of America Bank. An avid reader, Kathy was also known for her bountiful garden and beautiful flower beds.

Surviving are her two brothers, Paul (Mary Ann Graziano) Ureche and George (Suki) Ureche; step children, Larry (Mary) Engelhardt, Karen (Daniel) Cieslinski and Karl Engelhardt; step grandchildren, Jacob Cieslinski, Christopher Engelhardt and John Engelhardt; in-laws, Arthur Hoff, Loren Engelhardt, Doreen (Reinhard) Hrdlovich, Lois Pretzer and many nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death are step grandson, Matthew Cieslinski; siblings and in-laws, Magdalene Wood, John (Frances) Ureche, Lillian (George) Giltrop, Helen (Alfred) Smith, Elizabeth Hoff, James (Paulette) Ureche, Marjorie Ureche, Clarence (Irene) Engelhardt, Norma Engelhardt and Ralph Pretzer; daughter-in-law, Janet Engelhardt.

At the request of Kathleen, cremation has already taken place. A memorial service is being planned for May 21, 2023 at a location to be announced. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Toni and Trish House of Auburn, MI or donor’s favorite charity.
