Kathy passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at Huron Woods Nursing Home. Age 74 years. The daughter of the late Orlo and Katherine (Felske) Thayer was born March 15, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. Kathy was retired from Bay Metro and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Kathy is survived by her two children, Kelly Fahrner and her companion Dave LaLonde and Kurt Fahrner and his companion Nancy Neering; two grandchildren, Mary Jane Farhner and her fiancée Brian Stein and Joshua Allen Schalk and his partner Gavin Gage; one brother, Gerald and Char Thayer; one sister Mary Lou Lanker and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Kathy was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Jean Fahrner.
At the request of Kathy cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell. Friends may call at the Floral Gardens Cemetery from 12:30 p.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for Bay Area Women's Center or the CAN Council of Great Lakes Bay Region.
