Keith passed away Monday evening, July 12, 2021 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper, Saginaw at the age of 64 years. He was born on October 22, 1956 in Bay City, Michigan. Keith graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1974 and received a baseball scholarship. He later went on to play at Mott Community College. Keith lived in Florida for many years and worked as a cook. He then came back to Bay City and retired from Kroger where he worked in the meat department. He loved playing and watching baseball, basketball and enjoyed cooking.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Houghtaling; daughter, Marissa Kraft; grandchildren, Ellie and Cal; siblings, Larry (Judy) Silverthorn, Linda Bosco, Ron (Karen) Houghtaling, Kay (Richard) Daniels and David Houghtaling; brother-in-law, Joe Moore; several nieces and nephews and his aunt and godmother, Maureen Rytlewski. He was preceded in death by his father, Harlin J. Houghtaling II; brother, Harlin J. Houghtaling III; sister, Bonnie Moore and brother-in-law, Bob Bosco.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Jane Grzegorczyk with private interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to American Legion Baseball and Northwest Little League.
