Kellie Ann Dora (Our Miracle) after a courageous battle with non-small cell adenocarcinoma gene mutation lung cancer has been called to her heavenly home. There to greet her was our Lord and Savior along with her earthy father that she dearly loved. With outstretched arms Jesus said take our hands and come in where there is no more pain and suffering. Kellie was born in Bay City, Michigan February 15, 1960 to Jack O. Dora Sr. and Caroline Dora (Fielbrandt) of Linwood, Michigan.
Kellie was a graduate of Pinconning High School Class of 1978. From there she pursued her dream at Eastern Michigan in becoming a registered nurse class of 1982. That dream was fulfilled and her compassion, concern and care for patients was never ending. She worked in different areas of the medical field but enjoyed the surgical ward. Here she was able to work with the surgical heart team under the leadership of Dr. Ramesh Cherukuri for many years. Everlasting friendships have been developed with her medical colleagues and will live on forever. Kellie graduated in 1991 from Central Michigan with her Master’s Degree in Art and Health Education and Science.
Outside her medical profession she was simply known as "Aunt Kellie" to the young and old at heart. With her siblings she was called Ernie. She enjoyed doing yardwork, planting flowers, baking and writing letters of encouragement to family and friends. Kellie loved family gatherings especially Easter and Christmas. The Easter egg hunts, Christmas Bingo and her famous Santa Bag was the highlight every year. Not only was she generous with her time, talents and treasures she was always there with a listening ear to those that needed a shoulder to lean on. She truly followed the church’s teaching as it states give unto others as I have given unto you. Kellie also supported veterans, children foundations, missions and many other worthy causes.
Kellie is survived by her mother Caroline, siblings Jack Jr, George, Terry (Lori), Jacquelynn (John) McClelland. Also, nephews/nieces Chad (Amber) Dora, Claudia (Paul) Jezak, Jacob, Joshua, Reese, Jessa, Halie, Graham and a special caring Aunt Shirley Fielbrandt.
Kellie was predeceased by her father Jack Sr, Grandparents Orville and Elizabeth Dora, George and Albertina Fielbrandt, sister-in-law Laura Dora, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kellie’s home health care providers especially, Katie, Kathy, Don and Matthew for the care and compassion they provided Kellie.
