Kenneth M. Commire

Kenneth M. Commire, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at his home. Born on December 31, 1945, in Bay City, Michigan, Kenneth dedicated a remarkable 49 years of his life to working as a foreman at Michigan Sugar, where he became well-respected among his peers for his hard work and commitment.

Throughout his life, Kenneth was known for his great sense of humor, a quality that brought joy not only to his family but also to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a love for the outdoors and found joy in various hobbies, including building, and he regularly indulged in visits to the casino. However, above all his interests, it was the time spent with his family that he cherished the most.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cindy (Dufresne) Commire, who stood by his side through all of life's moments. He is also survived by his children: Robert Commire, Ronald Commire, Melissa (Rob) Zube, Michael (Hollie) Commire, Stacey Burpee, Tracey Commire, and Kennith William King. Kenneth was a proud grandfather to twenty-five grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Josephine (Beauchamp) Commire; his in-laws, Kenneth and Judith (Buzzard) Dufresne; his son, Kenneth Commire Jr.; and two grandchildren, David Commire and Ryan Burpee Jr.; brothers, George “Ed” Commire, Joe Commire, Albert “Al” Commire; sisters, Marie Noel and Helen Trimble; ex wife, jennifer Johnson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to La Tasha at Compassus Hospice for the outstanding care they provided Kenneth.

At the request of Kenneth, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Forest Township Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to wishes of the family.
