Kenneth "Lefty" Edwin McComb

McComb, Kenneth Edwin "Lefty" of Bay City, Michigan, age 83 years. The son of the late Thomas and Nellie (Chapman) McComb passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning November 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 28, 1927 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He retired from Bay City Chevrolet after thirty eight years of service, was an avid golfer and was a volunteer for North West Little League for over fifty years and served with the United States Army. On May 19, 1956 he married the former Maude Ellen Shorkey in Visitation Catholic Church and she survives his passing along with two sons and two daughters-in-law; Michael and Geralyn McComb of Munger and Scott and Janet McComb of Linwood, one daughter and son-in-law; Connie and Larry Engelhart of Bay City, twelve grandchildren; Bob (Becky) McComb, Michael McComb, Valerie (Brian) Groulx, Julie McComb and her fiancée Jeff Shaw, Carrie (Kip) Cronk, Scott McComb, Joseph McComb, Patrick McComb, Jacob McComb, Jeffrey McComb and Emily and Alyssa Engelhart, his great grandchildren; Lauren Groulx, Samantha McComb, Scott McComb, Zachery McComb, Michael McComb, Savannah McComb and Craig Fulks, two sisters; Janet ( Leon) Friesorger of Pinconning and Marion Clark of Houghton Lake and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Elaine McComb, one brother and sister-in-law; Paul and Patricia McComb and one brother-in-law; Donald Clark. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson followed by Military Honors at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for North West Little League will be available at the funeral home.
