Kevin Lee McGinnis

Kevin passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the age of 61. He was born to Lloyd and Evelyn (Krause) McGinnis on October 22, 1960 in Bay City, Michigan. Kevin received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University. He joined the US Air Force for 4 years after graduating from high school. He was very handy with repairs jobs and could almost fix anything and he's kept a snow thrower going for over 35 years. He also loved tinkering with small motors.
Kevin is survived by his daughters, Caitlyn McGinnis and Kaya McGinnis; mother, Evelyn McGinnis; brothers, Kip McGinnis, Craig (Cathy) McGinnis and Brian (Dina) McGinnis; close friend of two years, Amber Garza and her daughter Amaria; uncle, Jerry Krause; aunts, Diane Littrup, Jeanette Banaszak and Linda (Bob) Beythan; royal paw friends, Clyde and Bugsy, he was never seen without Clyde; best friend, Rev. Fr. Kevin and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Terri McGinnis and grandparents, Harel and Valarie McGinnis, Mike and Mina Krause and Harold and Mary Praschan.
Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert Kelm. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
