Landen Gary Lewis, 34, of Bay City, died December 31, 2022. He was born May 1, 1988, in Saginaw, the son of Gary Lewis and Laurie King (Goss). He attended Bay City schools and graduated from Western High School in 2006, where he was a member of the baseball and football teams.
Landen was an avid outdoorsman and loved hiking, biking, fishing, and running. His love for motorsports began as a boy, when his father got him a red go-cart for Christmas and he raced his sister in the McAlear-Sawden parking lot and on the dirt road at the family's cabin, one of his favorite places. Landen's passion for excitement and adventure continued to his adult life and he had many great adventures. He moved to Las Vegas to be with his mother and sister, hiking Zion, the Colorado River and Red Rock; to Los Angeles; to Washington, D.C., to be with his sister, where he piloted an airplane over the Atlantic and NYC and celebrated the 2020 presidential win by running the streets, flag in hand with the crowds in Downtown DC; and to Grenada Island, where he spearfished red snapper and grouper in the ocean and prepared delicious meals for his friends. Finally, Landen came back to his home, Bay City. A testament to his adventures, he loved to be surrounded by his family.
Landen would do anything for those he loved and put his heart into everything he endeavored to do. He enjoyed playing poker with his Grandmother and Euchre with his Grandparents, gardening, and collecting baseball cards. He was a skilled carpenter and hard-worker. Always the life of the party, Landen's larger-than-life personality drew in all those he encountered. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Landen is survived by his parents Laurie King (Goss) of Bay City and Gary and Amy Lewis of Auburn; sister Leslie of Washington, D.C.; and brother, Brody of Auburn. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Lauretta Goss; and his paternal grandmother, Carol Lewis, all of Bay City, as well as many close aunts, uncles and cousins.
At the request of Landen, Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 4 p.m. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishes of the Family.
