Emblem

Larry R. Brinkman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at McLaren Bay Region, with his family lovingly by his side. Born on December 11, 1942, in Bay City, Michigan, Larry lived a life marked by dedication, service, and deep devotion to those he cherished.

Larry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and a proud member of the Polish Legion of American Vets Post 162 Honor Guard. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duties; he devoted many years working as an Installation Technician for AT&T, contributing diligently to the community and building connections that spanned decades.

Larry found great happiness in playing cards, golfing, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid U of M fan. Nevertheless, his truest joy came from spending time with his family, a passion that was evident in everything he did.

He is survived by his loving children, Larry (Tammy) Brinkman Jr., Dan (Kelly) Brinkman, and Rhonda (Craig) Clark; his cherished grandchildren, Jacob Brinkman, Jacqueline Brinkman, Cheyenne Yost, and Miah Brayboy. Their lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Helen (Glum) Stecker, and his beloved wife of 53 years, Carlyn Brinkman, whose memory he held close throughout his life.

The family will gather to honor Larry’s memory at a private graveside service on May 7, 2026, at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan. In Lieu of Flowers, contributions may be considered to the P.L.A.V. Poppy Fund.
