The Angels took our loving husband, father, grandfather to his heavenly home Friday afternoon May 2, 2014 from McLaren Bay Region at the age of 77 years.  He was born September 3, 1936 in Caro, Michigan to the late Henry and Phyllis (Peters) Mis.  Larry attended Grace Church and the American Legion Post 18.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marines, he had a great interest in the Civil War history and enjoyed a good game of cards.  He was the co-owner Sandy's Transport Service with his wife and best friend Sandy.  Larry will be sadly missed by those truck drivers and pilot drivers who loved and respected him.
On September 5, 1980 he married the love his life the former Sandra L. Price (Anderson) Mis in Marietta, GA and she is left to cherish his memories along with his four children;  Eric and Cindy Mis, Terri and Don Coomes, Richard Mis and Lisa and Jeff Telder, four step children; Becky and Bill Clayton, Curt Anderson and his fiancée Leslie, Rod Anderson and his partner Bill and Carrie and Jeremy Austin, thirteen grandchildren who he cherished; Brandon and Jordan Mis, Adam and Alex Kovacs, Zachary Mis, Meghan and Katie Telder, Ashley Clayton, Heather O'Brien, Julia and Luke Anderson, Amber Jaworski and Malori Champine, several great grandchildren, one brother and sister-law; Kim and Gail Mis, one sister and brother-in-law; Yvonne and Tom Sims and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides his parents Henry and Phyllis he was preceded in death by one brother; Ronald Mis.
A Memorial Service will take place Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church 4267 S. Two Mile Road Bay City, MI 48706.  Officiating will be Rev.  Leonard A. Clevenger followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council.  At the request of Larry cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.  The family will be present at the church on Tuesday to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of the service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to Wishes of the Family.
