Gerard, Lawrence E. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Gerard passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 84 years. The son of the late Raymond and Anna (LaRoche) Gerard was born January 26, 1929 in Bay City. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed history, gardening, birds, shopping and being around family and friends. Lawrence is survived by his four children, Pam (Mike) Campau, Paula (Dick) Clifford, Larry (Connie) Gerard and Peggy (Brian) Hartley; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Gerard; three sisters, Lorraine Hill, Therese (Dick) Munley and Margo (Lance) Krager and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Lawrence was also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Gerard and one sister, Audrey MacLeod. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all who loved and cared for Lawrence at the Jefferson's House where he resided and to the wonderful nurses on the third floor at McLaren Bay Region. At the request of Mr. Gerard cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
